Note: A great little read for Asimov fans who want more insight into the history of his life and career.
Synopsis: Isaac Asimov introduces himself, and acknowledges that it is silly to do so. He hopes his name will push the sales of the magazine. He says "I am the least important person in this magazine." He introduces his publisher, Joel Davis, and explains the sister magazines "Ellery Queen's Mystery Magazine" and "Alfred Hitchcock's Mystery Magazine". He explains that he thought the use of his name was an unconventional idea for a science fiction magazine, and comes off as arrogant. He introduces George Scithers, his editor. An electrical engineer, transmissions expert, and former Lieutenant Colonel in the US army who also writes. He trusts his tastes in Science Fiction, as they are like his. Gardener Dozois works as associate editor, who is a sci-fi writer George admires.
He explains that there will be no serials, as novels have enough length. He explains the types of content to appear in the magazine. He says send manuscripts and praises to George, because he does all the work, and send complaints to Joel Davis because it was his idea.
