Note: Although it appears as "Belief (Published Version)" on page 298 of the Signet paperback edition of ''Alternate Asimovs'', this is only the final third of the story. The first two thirds of the story are same in both versions, so there was no need to reprint them. This ending was rewritten as per Campbell's request and is more upbeat than the original ending.
