Synopsis: Captions of the three 1903 magazine illustrations are revealing (each a quotation from the text):
* I put out my hand, lifting my lever, turned the current into my coils, and blazed up my Y Ray for half a heart beat." (3 men in a laboratory setting)
* I walked through the wall before his amazed eyes, and walked back again." (a displaced man occupies the same space as a wall)
* 'Through him! Pass through him! Come out! Come to me!' I cried. (a bodily man and a displaced man occupy the same living room chair)
