Note: Jungle Tales of Tarzan first appeared in print as twelve short stories in The Blue Book Magazine from August 1916 to July 1917 under the title NEW STORIES OF TARZAN. In March 1919, the stories appeared in book form from A. C. McClurg. A few months later, the stories began appearing in newspapers across the United States. In 1930, ten of the twelve stories appeared in the Des Moines Register newspaper with all new illustrations. That is the version which appears in this book.
