Synopsis: Describes H. P. Lovecraft's journey to visit his friend Roderick Ashton in Scotland, who obtained the heritage of a former Ashton with a dark secret. Every chapter is divided into three parts: • A letter sent by Lovecraft along his journey back to Frank Belknap Long • An interview by an officer of Scotland Yard to shed some light on the happenings the reader doesn't know about until the end • An entry from the diary of Roderick Ashton Along his journey, Lovecraft also visits the old Sherlock Holmes (and Dr. Watson).
