Note: The text of this play is available from the Univ. of Maryland.
This play was first performed in 1823, and various OCLC records give published dates of the format "[1823?]" or "[1824?]", but are referring to the 1883 publication in "Dicks' Standard Plays", as does Wikipedia's picture of the cover of Peake's play. Cornell Univ., in OCLC 63959534 specifies a publication by "[J. Duncombe, 1824?]", but this may be a miscataloging of the Milner play (they admit that the title was supplied, and remark that the play is "Based partly on Mrs. Shelley's novel Frankenstein and partly on a French work," which describes the Milner play).
