  • Note: Name : Albin Michel - Science-Fiction (usually known as "1ère série" for the first four unnumbered titles and "2ème série" for the 31 numbered ones). Publisher : Editions Albin Michel 22 rue Huyghens 75014 Paris. Period of activity : 1968 to 1974. Series' Editors : George H. Gallet & Jacques Bergier. Number of titles in the series : 4 + 31. Numbering system : not numbered for the 4 first titles, then straight numeric from 1 to 31 (no holes). Format : paperback, 11 x 18 cm, stayed the same during all the life of the series. Length : usually runs to 250 pages with at least one longer title (I Will Fear no Evil) and one with logically a very big typeface (The Houses of Iszm). Presentation : stayed the same, first illustrated cover then metalized foil with black lettering. Artists : original covers for the four first titles, then no illustration (overall design is copyrighted to "Faucheux Arts Graphiques"). Reprinting policy : none known to this day. Origin of texts : Some come from "Le rayon fantastique", the rest are first French translations or (rare) PBO by French authors. Bibliographical data present on the books : Dépôt Légal is always present, AI is generally on the book and ISBN arrived late in the series. The illustrator (4 first titles) is not credited. The English titles are generally given with original copyright dates for the novels or the short stories. Author's names are sometimes not the ones used in English publications (e.g. Robert Heinlein). Content : No anthologies and two collections of two long texts (Hoyle, Williamson).
