Henry Hardy Heins' A Golden Anniversary Bibliography of Edgar Rice Burroughs gives the date as "192-" and lists this as the third printing. Bound in smooth (Heins) or fine-grained (Zeuschner) red cloth with a black design and lettering. The spine of the dust-jacket has a shield design above the publisher's name. The frontispiece omits the words "he said" at the end of the caption. The copyright page and page 9 show clear deterioration of the printing plates, but page 195 is sharp and clear.
