Notes: - Available in HTML, plain text (us-ascii & iso-8859-1), Plucker, EPUB, & MOBI formats from Ebook #25862.
- Produced from Amazing Stories, July 1962; the story, there, was itself a reprint from Amazing Stories, October 1929. The HTML version includes artwork from that issue, credited to Briggs. The drawing is signed, but not very legibly; it might well say "Austin (something) Briggs 29"
- The HTML version also contains hidden page numbers, invisible but buried in the HTML code, running 1-51. These have been used here for pagination, but are not the same numbers as those in the source publication. (And the illustration & beginning of the story precede page number 1, but the text continues after page number 51. I am treating these numbers as being at the foot of the pages.)
- The Project Gutenberg wrapper identifies the author as Green Peyton Wertenbaker & the artist as Austin Briggs; the transcribed text itself says G. Peyton Wertenbaker & Briggs, respectively.
- "Produced by Robert Cicconetti, Annie McGuire and the Online Distributed Proofreading Team at http://www.pgdp.net".
