  • Note:
    • The "Richard Blade Adventures" series was carried on in French from 1983 to 2012 (first by Plon, then Presses de la Cité, Vaugirard and finally Vauvenargues) after it was put an end to in the English language. The books were pretendedly "adapted" from the American English, but no original title was ever given. On the other hand, the name of the alleged "adapter / translator" (Richard D. Nolane as "Olivier Raynaud" [in fact his real name]; Gérald Moreau; Patrick Eris as "Thomas Bauduret" [also his real name]; Raymond Audemard; Philippe Randa; Patrice Roger-Chantin; Frédéric Szczepaniak; Arnaud Dalrune; Yves Chéraqui; Christian Mantey; Paul Couturiau; Olga Tormes; Yves Bulteau; Didier Le Grais; Nadine Monfils; Jean-Manuel Moreau as "Nemo Sandman"; Stéphane Arlann; Paul-Gaspard Julien; Pascal Candia) was occasionally indicated, and will be considered here as the name of the author, although the novels were always credited to "Jeffrey Lord".
    • One of the characteristics of the French series is the frequent tongue-in-cheek tone, occasionally developing into an actual parody of the original series. This is all the more visible in the increasing number of jokes in titles, such as Le complot des Sin'Kas "The Sin'Kas Plot", punning with des cinq as "of the five aces"; Les arènes d'Hushtaad "The Arenas of Hushtaad", punning with du stade" "of the stadium"; Le royaume des Zombres "The Kingdom of the Zombres" punning with des ombres "of the shadows"; Les veilleurs de Jhour "The Watchers of Jhour" punning with les veilleurs de jour, "the day-watchmen", a variation on les veilleurs de nuit, "the night-watchmen"; Les gardiens d'Ufhar "the Wardens of Ufhar", punning with les gardiens du phare, "the lighthouse-keepers"; or again Le gnome noir de Karlibruna, punning with the name of Carla Bruni, top-model, weak-voiced singer and eventually wife of French president Nicolas Sarkozy.
    • The numbering of the French series carries on where the English one left off, and starts therefore with #38 to end with #206.
    • The series was brutally put an end to in 2012 with #206, Le secret des lions ailés, due to internal dissensions between authors, artists and management. This last book was printed but never distributed. Its author (Pascal Candia, now deceased) acquired some of the stock to retail the books on demand, and the remnant was destroyed. Two other books, #207 L'ultime escale, isbn 978-2-7443-1794-1, and #208 Paris révolution, isbn 978-2-7443-1795-8, were announced but never published. It is not known whether they exist as ms.
