Note: The "Roswell High" series preceded, and inspired, the TV series "Roswell" (some of those books were released during the first season of the show). During the second season of the TV show, the "Loose End" series was released, set in an indeterminate time during the second season. The show moved from WB to UPN for the third season, but part-way through that season it was announced that the show was being cancelled. When that happened, "Loose Ends" was retired and "New Beginnings" was launched. The first four books of this third series take place during the summer between seasons two and three. The fifth book of this series, A New Beginning, takes place immediately following the events of the final episode of the show. The books continue from that point, with books 5-8 wrapping up the plotlines from both the TV show and the books.
