Note: National Award. The Aurealis Awards were established in 1995 by Chimaera Publications, the publishers of Aurealis magazine, to recognise the achievements of Australian science fiction, fantasy and horror writers. They differ from the Ditmar Awards by including young adult categories, omitting fan categories, and by being a judged award. New official website from 2014 - http://aurealisawards.org/. History for 2010 to 2013 now merged into the old history to 2009 document, with some merging of category titles. 2010 to 2013 here uses the year by year results from the old site. For the Aurealis Award listings in ISFDB, "Nomination" equates to "Finalist" in that category. Note also that the "short story" categories generally cover novelettes and some / most novellas, as well. (through 2014 awards). "Novella" categories for SF, fantasy, horror (but not YA), were introduced for the 2015 awards; 7,500 - 40,000 words (so includes ISFDB novelettes).
