Note: Originally serialized in Magasin d'Éducation et de Récréation in two parts, each part restarting chapter numbers. Part 1, titled as "Les Anglais au pôle nord" and a sub-title of "Aventures du capitaine Hatteras", appeared from 20 Mar, 1864 (issue #1) to 20 Feb, 1865 (issue #23). The illustrators were H. de Montaut (as de Montaut) and Riou (credited in some issues as Rioux). A footnote explains this was a double-title ("Sous ce double titre"). Part 2, titled as "Le Désert de glace" and sub-title of "Aventures du capitaine Hatteras", appeared from 5 Mar, 1865 (issue #24) to 5 Dec, 1865 (issue #42). The illustrator credited was Riou.
