Note: A non-speculative tale of terror. First published as "The Story of the Sealed Room" in the Strand Magazine, September 1898.
Synopsis: "Lawyer sees a young man nearly run over by a cab and helps him into his decayed big house. Discovers his father was the banker who ruined lots of people and disappeared. There is one room sealed shut which the absconded father wrote the son not to open till he was 21. A few months later the young man arrives at that age and the lawyer is present at the unsealing of the door." (Books & Boots)
