Note: This began as an original anthology with most of the work commissioned in 1971; the introduction to "Cloak of Anarchy" refers to a "mere fifty years," which suggests that the original goal was 1970. By the time it was published (due to publisher delays) five of the eight stories had already been published elsewhere. The preface uses a slash in the title ("20/20 Vision"), as does the copyright page; but it is missing elsewhere. The 1980 edition has a new preface, introduction and afterword, and updated introductions to each story.
