- The Streatfeild introduction dates from the 1966 first editions of the Nesbit memoir. --reported for the US ed. in Library Journal 91 (1966), p6210 (Identical page-counts for all 1966 to 1980s editions, with the later illustrations by George Buchanan as plates, suggest identical interior contents.)
- One online bookseller reports a copy of the 1st ed. inscribed by the publisher (Ronald Whiting of Whiting & Wheaton), with "a lengthy introduction by Noel Streatfeild". (No report of the introduction found in WorldCat library records as 1966, nor Kirkus Reviews and some newspaper coverage.)
