" Swish! It is the wind, let loose.
Swash! It is the rain, falling in torrents.
This shrieking squall bends down the trees of the Volsinian coast, and hurries on, flinging itself against the sides of the mountains of Crimma."
This translation was first published in The Strand Magazine July 19, 1892 under the title "Dr Trifulgas: A Fantastic Tale". A copy can be viewed in the fourth semi-annual bound volume at archive.org on page 53 of the magazine.
