The protagonists of this tale are Big Thom the salvager and his wife Georgiana Thomas. Big Thom appears in Chapter Four of Heart of Steel. He's a friend of Mad Machen and Ivy Blacksmith, and helps Lady Corsair retrieve her lockbox from the bottom of the harbor at Port Fallow. That happened two years before this story.
