Note: Originally serialized in Magasin d'Éducation et de Récréation in titled as "Le Désert de glace" and sub-title of "Aventures du capitaine Hatteras", appeared from 5 Mar, 1865 (issue #24) to 5 Dec, 1865 (issue #42). The illustrator credited was Riou. A footnote explains this was a double-title ("Sous ce double titre").
