Note:
This introduction (pp. 5-6 in the 1st ed., viewed at HathiTrust) supports the title-page fiction that Wells is distinct from Reginald Bliss, although in a jocular way that may have been a hint to every reader and must have revealed all to some of them. Automated search of 1920 UK newspapers finds almost no attention to the 1920 Second Edition, where Wells is acknowledged the author of the whole.
In its 1915 editions only, Boon is presented on the title page as "from the Literary Remains of George Boon ..."
Prepared for publication by Reginald Bliss
With an Ambiguous Introduction by H. G. Wells
