  • Note: Mea Allan was the first female war correspondent to be permanently accredited to the British Forces and the first female news editor in Fleet Street. BBC Radio did a broadcast, on June 14, 1999, titled "Change of Heart" (written & directed by Felicity Goodall) examining the life and writings of Mea Allen. This was one in a series of 3 radio plays on pioneering women journalists in England.
